Two thirds of men are unaware of family prostate cancer danger: Men are 2.5 times more likely to develop the disease if it has affected their brother or father

  • 66 per cent of men whose father or brother are affected are unaware of the risk
  • One in eight British men will develop the disease in their lifetime, figures show
  • 99 per cent of men who are diagnosed in early stages live for at least ten years
  • But if the disease is diagnosed late this survival rate drops to just 22 per cent
